Memorial Day Weekend on Table Rock Lake

Just recently Table Rock Lake was ranked one of the Top Ten Lakes for families in the United States. As a real estate agent who lives here, I am fortunate enough to experience it every day. When looking for real estate clients are always talking about “getting the best view” and that is really important. (I know because after a long hard day at work, I wonder on to the back deck and watch the sunset, while other people are glued to a TV.) Equally important for clients who are considering this as their home, is all the lake opportunities.

Another spectacular weekend on the lake, we had wonderful weather 80 degrees, with some quick rain showers that brought beautiful scenery. Table Rock Lake being a CORE lake keeps it’s natural beauty. The Ozark Mountains are all around you with native wildlife and don’t be surprised to see blue heron’s flying over head, foxes playing on the shore line or deer peaking out of the woods.

There is lot’s to do here for both family & friends.

We have some of the greatest fishing around with large mouth, small mouth and Kentucky bass, catfish, crappie, walleye, perch and kids favorite blue gill. There is definitely something for everyone and they were out in force this weekend. You can find fishing tournaments almost every weekend for those who like to compete.

This is a great lake for boating, whether your tubing, skiing, wake boarding, house boats or just hanging out on the pontoon or tying up with friends. Your options are endless.

Why living in the Branson area Makes Sense

As a real estate agent in the Branson MO area, clients ask me all the time, “What do you like most about living here?”

It’s pretty simple: great community, unlimited activities, & easy access.

I’ve lived in many great communities across Missouri (and Texas) and I’ve loved them all, but when it came time for my husband and I to make a lifestyle change we toured from coast to coast. We saw many wonderful places, but nothing that compared to Table Rock Lake.  We attended college in the area, have owned property here for years, and spent the last thirty years traveling here to visit family.  As a family, we’ve made a lot of great memories in the area. From attending shows in Branson, racing go carts, ‘therapy’ shopping (I’ll admit it), utilizing all the amazing parks in the area, and best yet: LAKE TIME! From catching ‘the first fish’, learning to water ski, and even cliff jumping together, we’ve been able to do it all as a family. After a year of research and many trips to potential ‘landing’ spots, it just made sense to make Table Rock Lake our new home. Whether you are a family with young children, or you are dreaming of a retirement home or vacation home, this community has something for all ages and phases of life. Its no wonder USA Today recently ranked this area as one of the Top 5 unknown places to retire to.

COMMUNITY:

I have never lived in a community where people cared so much for their neighbors.  We have a lot of wonderful churches and hard working people with mid-western values who help each other in hard times because they take the time to know their neighbors. We also have the advantage of great healthcare for our community. Both Mercy Hospital & Cox Medical Centers are expanding their services here and if that isn’t enough, Springfield is less than thirty minutes from our door step. Also, our property taxes are relatively low: typically taxes run around $1,000 per year on 120K home and the median home price is 200K, making it very affordable to live here. There has been tremendous strides in infra-structure updates over the last 10 years with road improvements on both sides of the lake to help with increasing traffic congestion. There are a lot of great volunteer organizations to get involved in and make a difference in this community. Do you like four seasons? We have it and we generally have mild winter weather. We do get snow, but it doesn’t usually stick around for long. The summer heat shows up in July & August, but that’s why we have the lake!

Truly endless possibilities await residents who live here when it comes to activities. We have all the traditional things that Branson is known for: shopping, shows, dining, and amusement parks. Your options are endless and it will take you awhile to work your way through all those activities. We also have great State Parks, campgrounds, hiking trails, boating, golfing, scuba diving, adventure ziplines, biking trails, fitness centers and more. Your days can and should be filled with exciting and fun activities of all shapes and sizes. We have tremendous golf courses all throughout the Branson area (Branson Golf).

I’d like to share some of my experiences here on Table Rock Lake. I love taking the nature trail at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, it’s about 3 miles in and out. You are surrounded by beautiful waterfalls, cliffs, bridges, and it can be walked, biked, or ride the tram. Amazing pictures can be taken all along the way (Read my blog on this park at Dogwood Canyon Nature Park ). Another great activity, is when my husband takes me “fishing” (see Running with the White Bass). There is nothing better than a little R&R on Table Rock Lake.  How could you not want to live in the Ozark Mountains?

I happen to be of the Baby Boomer generation and a recent survey shows that the most popular activities for ‘boomers’ include travel & family activities. We love living in the Midwest where we are centrally located and “drivable” to almost any area of the USA. If driving isn’t your thing, we also have the Branson Airport with several major carriers including Southwest Airlines & Frontier Airlines.

Table Rock Lake Fun in the Sun Waiting for You!

Making memories with friends on Table Rock Lake in Branson Missouri

There are so many memories that a tank of gas and a jet ski can offer you on Table Rock Lake.

Family and Friends combined with lake toys, sun and laughter. As a parent it always brings me joy when your daughter and son look forward to their visits. Spending the day telling stories on the dock, doing donuts on the jet ski, tubing, tanning and fishing. Life just doesn’t get any better. The special moments are made all day and then dinner is rehashing all the experiences.

How many fish and how big, who made the biggest wave, who hung on longest on the tube, who’s tan is better, it just goes on and on.

The sun sets and your visitors keep telling you how beautiful it is and how lucky you are to live here on Table Rock Lake

 Time flies when you are having fun, but it also stands still when you share special moments. This was a beautiful weekend with special people and great fun all created with a wonderful lake.

Table Rock is special and warms my heart to see three girls smiling back at you, knowing they are forever changed and renewed from being here.

They will go home tomorrow to their lives, but they will never forget.

How can you not smile, when you watch kids catch the big one.  Table Rock Lake is full of fish and as adults, some times we just forget the pure joy in the “catch”.  It’s truly a blessing to be a part of that experience. The Branson area is home to lots and lots of those wonderful fish, who just love to jump in to the boat.  At least that is if your using the right lure, with the right color, and at the right depth, size, speed and whatever else we adults think we need to be successful.  A child only knows he’s got a chance and that’s just good enough.  Just think, if we adults could take some lessons from our young competitors we might have a little more success on the lake, or at least more fun.
