The Power of the Blog

WHY BLOG?

The beautiful thing about a blog, is that if you are a closet writer…BLOGGING is for you.
If you’ve always wanted to have a voice, or to free your inner being…BLOGGING is for you!

Three quick tips: blog about your experiences, blog about your expertise and blog for business reasons.  When you blog about what you love, it come easily and effortlessly.  It doesn’t need to be perfect, because your life experiences resonate with other readers who have the same interests and that can “move them”.  We all love a feel-good story, so take a chance and share yours.

Being an expert at something may actually help someone else who wants to learn more about a subject and in-turn you may learn more from others.  You might be an expert gardener of perennials in the Midwest and you’ve found some great tips to help other novice gardeners.  Share them…then please send them to me!

Finally, if you are a business owner YOU need to be BLOGGING.  This is a way for future clients to get to know you on a personal level and see all your products and information. It’s free ADVERTISING, so take advantage of it.

Really, you should blog for fun. Let some steam out on paper and who knows…you could be the next Steven King or John Grisham.  I have broken down the art of Blogging into several YouTube videos, hope these help.

For the last four or five years it just hasn’t made financial sense to take on the task of building, because you could buy already built significantly cheaper.  The gap on cost is closing and inventories are dropping, foreclosures are drying up and land is so inexpensive to buy.  If you’ve viewed 25-50 or more homes that maybe the sign that your “perfect” home maybe in your head and you may want to consider building.

We are fortunate here on Table Rock Lake to have a lot or acreage for everyone, from gorgeous lake views, rolling hills and the Ozark Mountains could be your back drop, land for a farm or vineyard or horses.  Your options are truly endless.  Just recently in the Branson Tri-Lakes area we are seeing new construction rebounding to 2012 levels.

It is key to find a builder you can trust: someone you can communicate with and can work through your dreams and lifestyle you wish to live in this home. There are several tips on how to pick your builder on the National Association of Home Builders: How to Choose a Home Builder  It’s also important to work with a quality real estate professional to find the lot that works for the home you are building. Key things to consider: 1. the grade of the land, 2. what type of view do you want, 3. distance from schools/work, 4. amenities of the neighborhood, and here on the lake you also need to consider lot size for septic and wells.

The key to building your own home is stay on Budget, to know your lifestyle, and build a home that works for you, but build with the knowledge that the average homeowner lives in their home around 5 yrs, so keep in mind selling while building, stay vigilant in the process and work with professionals.
